DISCLAIMERS
Last Updated: July 22, 2026
These Disclaimers apply to The Granddaughter Network LLC (“TGN,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including our website, communications, referral services, coordination support, forms, and related materials.
Please read these Disclaimers carefully. By using our website or Services, you acknowledge and agree that these Disclaimers apply to your interactions with TGN.
1. OUR ROLE
TGN operates as a non-medical caregiver referral and coordination network. TGN helps families and individuals connect with independent caregivers and, in some cases, other community-based support resources. TGN’s role is limited to referral-related and coordination-related activities, such as receiving inquiries, gathering information, helping identify possible referrals, facilitating introductions, communicating referral-related information, and providing administrative support related to the referral process.
TGN does not provide home care, caregiving services, medical care, clinical services, payroll services, or staffing services.
2. NON-EMPLOYER / NON-STAFFING STATEMENT
TGN does not employ caregivers referred through the Network. TGN is not a staffing agency, temporary help agency, payroll company, home care employer, or joint employer of caregivers. Caregivers connected through the Network are independent service providers who retain control over the services they offer, the referrals they accept, their schedules, and the direct arrangements they make with families.
3. DIRECT FAMILY-CAREGIVER ARRANGEMENTS
Families and caregivers are solely responsible for deciding whether to work together and for establishing any direct service arrangement between themselves. That direct arrangement may include services, schedules, availability, supervision, transportation, cancellations, compensation, time off, household expectations, and any other working terms. TGN is not a party to the direct service relationship between a family and an independent caregiver unless TGN expressly signs a separate written agreement stating otherwise.
4. NO SUPERVISION OR CONTROL OF IN-HOME SERVICES
TGN does not direct, supervise, train, schedule, control, or manage the manner or means by which an independent caregiver provides in-home services. TGN does not create or administer caregiver work schedules, does not direct caregiver tasks inside the home, and does not oversee the day-to-day performance of caregiving services. Any services accepted by a caregiver are provided directly by that caregiver to the client or family under their own direct arrangement.
5. NON-MEDICAL SERVICES ONLY
TGN is a nonmedical referral and coordination network. TGN does not provide medical advice, medical care, clinical services, skilled nursing services, clinical supervision, diagnosis, treatment, or medication administration. Any medical decision, treatment decision, clinical judgment, or clinical oversight remains the responsibility of licensed medical professionals and the family involved. Website descriptions of support categories are intended to describe the types of nonmedical services that independent caregivers or other providers may offer directly to families. Those descriptions should not be interpreted as a promise that TGN itself provides those services.
6. NO GUARANTEE OF REFERRAL, AVAILABILITY, COMPATIBILITY, OR OUTCOME
TGN does not guarantee that:
a) a referral will be available;
b) an independent caregiver will accept a referral;
c) a family will select a particular independent caregiver;
d) an independent caregiver and family will be compatible;
e) referral services by TGN, or caregiving services by the independent caregiver, will continue for any particular duration;
f) any referral will result in a successful arrangement; or
g) any specific result, outcome, or level of satisfaction will be achieved.
TGN may assist with identifying possible referrals, but the ultimate decision whether to move forward rests with the family and the caregiver.
7. SCREENING AND BACKGROUND INFORMATION DISCLAIMER
TGN may conduct or coordinate certain screening steps for referral eligibility, such as reference checks, identity verification, credential review, background-check coordination, or Massachusetts CORI review where permitted by law. Any such screening is conducted solely for referral-network purposes. Screening does not constitute supervision, employment, certification, endorsement, or a guarantee of safety, suitability, competence, or performance. Families remain responsible for making their own decisions about whether to engage a caregiver and whether additional diligence, references, interviews, insurance review, or legal advice is appropriate for their situation.
8. PAYMENT AND PAYROLL DISCLAIMER
Unless expressly stated otherwise in a separate written agreement, TGN does not pay caregiver wages, process payroll, withhold taxes, provide employee benefits, or guarantee payment owed by a family to a caregiver. Families and caregivers are solely responsible for their direct payment arrangements unless a separate written arrangement specifically provides otherwise. Any fees charged by TGN are TGN’s own referral, coordination, administrative, setup, or related fees and are separate from compensation owed by a family to a caregiver.
9. TRANSPORTATION DISCLAIMER
If an independent caregiver offers transportation, driving, or appointment accompaniment, that arrangement is made directly between the family and the caregiver. TGN does not provide, supervise, control, insure, or guarantee transportation services provided by an independent caregiver. Families and caregivers are responsible for discussing transportation expectations, insurance, permissions, reimbursement, vehicle use, and related risks directly with one another.
10. HOME-READINESS AND SETUP SUPPORT DISCLAIMER
If TGN offers limited home-readiness, setup, organizational, or administrative support, those services are intended to be nonmedical and ancillary to the referral process. TGN does not perform clinical assessments, prescribe care plans, supervise caregivers, or manage in-home care through any setup or home-readiness service.
11. THIRD-PARTY RESOURCES DISCLAIMER
TGN may, from time to time, identify or refer families to third-party resources, such as independent caregivers, community-based support services, equipment providers, payroll vendors, transportation resources, cleaners, handypersons, or other service providers. TGN does not own or control those third parties and does not guarantee their services, performance, availability, licensing, insurance, pricing, or legal compliance. Any decision to work with a third-party provider is made solely by the family or individual involved.
12. NO LEGAL, TAX, PAYROLL, INSURANCE, OR FINANCIAL ADVICE
TGN does not provide legal, tax, payroll, insurance, accounting, financial, employment, or regulatory advice. Families and caregivers are encouraged to consult their own advisors regarding any issues that may apply to their particular arrangement, including direct service agreements, payment practices, taxes, insurance, household obligations, workers’ compensation, privacy, and other legal or business matters.
13. MASSACHUSETTS RIGHTS AND WRITTEN AGREEMENTS
Families and caregivers may benefit from discussing and documenting the terms of their direct arrangement, including services, schedules, payment, time off, cancellations, and household expectations. TGN may encourage clear communication and written agreements, but TGN does not determine the legal status of any family-caregiver arrangement and does not guarantee that any arrangement satisfies any particular legal, tax, payroll, or employment law standard.
14. WEBSITE CONTENT DISCLAIMER
The content on this website is provided for general informational purposes only. It is not legal advice, medical advice, clinical advice, financial advice, tax advice, or employment advice. Although we strive to keep website information accurate and current, TGN does not guarantee that all content is complete, accurate, current, or applicable to every situation. TGN may update, revise, or remove website content, service descriptions, or referral information at any time without notice.
15. NO PROVIDER-PATIENT, CLINICAL, OR FIDUCIARY RELATIONSHIP
Your use of the website or communications with TGN does not create a physician-patient relationship, nurse-patient relationship, therapist-patient relationship, attorney-client relationship, fiduciary relationship, or any other professional-services relationship requiring licensure or regulated clinical oversight.
16. PRIVACY AND INFORMATION SHARING REMINDER
If you submit information through our website or communications, that information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Because TGN’s role is to help facilitate referrals, relevant information provided by a family may be shared with a prospective independent caregiver or service provider when reasonably necessary to evaluate or facilitate a requested referral, as described in the Privacy Policy.
17. EXTERNAL LINKS AND THIRD-PARTY SITES
Our website may contain links to third-party websites, tools, resources, or social media pages. TGN is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, security, or accuracy of any third-party website or service.
18. LIMITATION OF WEBSITE RELIANCE
Any family or caregiver using the website remains responsible for evaluating whether a particular caregiver, provider, resource, or arrangement is appropriate for their needs. TGN does not guarantee that website content, communications, or referral information will meet every user’s expectations or legal requirements.
19. CHANGES TO THESE DISCLAIMERS
